Fred Schisler

Fred Schisler was the oldest son of James George Currie Schisler. He was born October 3, 1897 and died June 22, 1973 in Princeton, BC. His only brother was our George Ivan Schisler. Fred lived a very interesting life and fought for Canada in World War I (1914-1918). Fred returned to Princeton at the conclusion of WWI and his last job was operating the Princeton Campsite on the Similkameen River just outside of Princeton.

Fred had one child being a son Clifford Harvey Schisler born in 1926 in Oroville, Washington, USA and died in 2002 in Ontario. Clifford went to school in Princeton just like his cousins (his brother George Ivan's children). Cliff fought in World War II for Canada although was only stationed in southern Ontario. He went to Kitimat around 1951 and worked on construction at Alcan Smelter. Eventually, he operated a sporting goods store. He moved to Ontario to start a sporting goods business (hunting/fishing). He remained in Ontario until his death.

He had two children born in Kitimat, BC. Daughter Tanis Marie Schisler born 1958 and son Mark Scott Schisler born 1957 and died in 2010 in Ontario.

Regrettably, no more children, so Fred's family tree ends with his two grandchildren.

In effect, from Fred's and George Ivan's grandfather George Schisler (born June 1842) in Welland, Ontario (died 1915 in Welland) the only remaining Schislers will be those ancestors of George Ivan Schisler. This is our family tree.
