In addition:
- For the BC Elks Association George was the second highest ranking Elk in BC. They had asked George to become their BC President, but he declined given he needed to prioritize his time.
- One of the founding members of the Princeton Curling Club located on top of the bluff. George was instrumental in getting the Club built. George was an avid curler until his arthritic knees precluded him continuing.
- The Baseball Park located on the way to Hedley was planned and organized by George.
- One of the founding organizers of Princeton Racing Days.
- Helped plan and construct the Princeton Campsite located on the Similkameen River on the way to Hedley. This campsite employed his brother Fred from 1958 to 1964.
Basically, Grandpa George was heavily involved in many Princeton projects. He spent the first 75 years of his life in Princeton. Always known for giving his time generously. It can be said that he loved his hometown and the fishing and hunting that were a huge part of his life at that time.
Grandpa George was very competitive. He loved to play Cribbage and Canasta with family and friends. He spent his last years in Kelowna near his son Stan and his family.
